NMC warns against Forged Letters Misleading Medical Colleges

The Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has uncovered a disturbing case of forged and fake letters being issued to various colleges, purportedly on behalf of a Member/President of MARB. It has been confirmed that no such official communications were dispatched to these colleges. The NMC has issued a public notice on this matter dated 1st September, 2023.

In light of this alarming discovery, the NMC has taken swift action to rectify the situation. The Directorate of Medical Education in states and union territories (UTs) across the country has been formally requested to allocate seats for Under Graduate-MBBS and Post Graduate-Broad Specialty and Super Specialty programs for the academic year 2023-24 based solely on the information available on the official website of the National Medical Commission.

This decision has been made to ensure the integrity of the admission process and to protect the interests of aspiring medical students and institutions. It is imperative that colleges and candidates rely exclusively on the information provided on the NMC’s official website.

The NMC wishes to inform all concerned parties, including the general public, that any actions or decisions based on information received from sources other than the official NMC website may be erroneous. To avoid any discrepancies or misunderstandings, it is strongly advised that all information related to medical admissions and seat allotments be cross-verified directly with the National Medical Commission.
