The Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has issued an Office Memorandum (OM) revising its prior OM on Supply of Gensets. The present OM was issued on 31st July, 2023.
It may be recalled that on 22nd June, 2023, MoEFCC had issued an Office Memorandum (OM) requesting the manufacturers of genset and genset engines to submit details of orders to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). It had also required that orders would also be required to be displayed on the websites of the genset and genset engine manufacturers before 31st July, 2023.
MoEFCC has now received representation that disclosing such information on the websites would be a violation/ breach of confidentiality obligations agreed with customers. Hence, the Ministry has decided to omit this requirement from the OM.
Therefore, the details of the orders will have to be shared with CPCB but do not have to be published on the websites mandatorily.
