The Employees ‘ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has issued an order constituting committees for framing of Draft Schemes under Social Security Code, 2020. This order was issued on 2nd June, 2023.
It may be recalled that by virtue of the Social Security Code 2020, the Central Government has to frame the following three Schemes:
- Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme (EPFS)
- Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS)
- Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme (EDLIS)
The draft of these three schemes must be prepared and placed before the Government of India (MoL&E), for consideration. Hence to achieve this objective the EPFO has constituted a separate committee to draft each of these schemes.
The membership of these committees have been designated in the present order.
The first draft of the Schemes may be submitted by the respective Committees to the Central Provident Fund Commissioner (CPFC) by 23rd June, 2023.
