RBI on May 08, 2023 has issued a Master Circular on Income Recognition, Asset Classification, Provisioning and Other Related Matters for Urban Co-operative Banks. The master circular directs that Banks should classify their assets into the following broad groups, viz. –
(i) Standard Assets
(ii) Sub-standard Assets
(iii) Doubtful Assets
(iv) Loss Assets
Previously, the GST rate was set at “half per cent” (0.5%). The recent amendment changes this to “0.25 per cent” (a quarter percent).
