RBI vide notification dated May 4, 2023 has issued an amendment to the Master Direction (MD) on KYC to include Instructions on Wire Transfer in the MD. The amendment provides that all cross-border wire transfers shall be accompanied by accurate, complete, and meaningful originator and beneficiary information as mentioned below:
a. name of the originator;
b. the originator account number where such an account is used to process the transaction;
c. the originator’s address, or national identity number, or customer identification number, or date and place of birth;
d. name of the beneficiary; and
e. the beneficiary account number where such an account is used to process the transaction.

Previously, the GST rate was set at “half per cent” (0.5%). The recent amendment changes this to “0.25 per cent” (a quarter percent).
