Ministry of Health and Family Welfare had launched Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav on 17th September 2022, the drive witnessed an extensive participation from the donors. 1,68,857 donors participated in the drive on 17th September 2022.
Subsequently, a total of 2,71,574 blood donations were made across India between 17th September to October 1st. During the 15 day drive, 11,868 camps were approved and 4,19,642 donors registered for voluntary blood donations.
Digital innovations done on e-RaktKosh portal and Aarogya Setu became the backbone of the ‘Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav’. These digital innovations were crucial to streamline registrations and creating an efficient logistical management system for organizing camps across states.
Moreover, ‘Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav’ successfully created momentum and brought attention to an issue crucial for public health.
