The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has issued a public notice on the implementation of Tariff Rate Quotas (TRQs) under India- UAE CEPA. Annexure IV of Appendix 2A of the TRQs stand revised. These provisions lay down the procedure for import of items under the India- UAE CEPA. Traders are now allowed to import under TRQs for all tariff lines except 7108. This notice was dated 29th December, 2022.
TRQs already issued in financial year 2022-2023 under the tariff head 7108 may be revalidated till 31.3.2023. TRQ allotee can apply for revalidation on the DGFT website. They will have to navigate to services, then to Import Management System and then to Tariff Rate Quota and apply for revalidation.
Valifity of TRQs under tariff head 7108 to be issued for the 4th quarter of FY2-2022-2023 will be 30th June 2023. The Allocation of TRQs under the tariff head 7108 from FY2023-2024 onwards will be on annual basis.
The deadline for applying for TRQs under India – UAE CEPA for FY2023-2024 is 28th February, 2023.
