The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) on December 16, 2022, notified that the Central Motor Vehicles (Twenty-fourth Amendment) Rules, 2022 will further amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989. The amendment revises the following:
- The Technical Specification of Reference Hydrogen Fuel for BS- VI vehicles title shall be substituted.
- Technical Specification of Reference Hydrogen Fuel for BS-IV
- Applicability of Test Requirements for BS-VI
The vehicles or engines fuelled with bio diesel blends up to 7% shall be tested with reference diesel (B7) and vehicles fuelled with bio diesel blends above 7% shall be tested with respective blends.
The test applicability requirements for dual fuel engine is depending on the Gas Energy Ratio (GER) measured over the hot part of the World Harmonized Transient Cycle (WHTC) test-cycle. GER classification shall be as per AIS: 137 and as amended from time to time.
