The UGC (University Grants Commission) has issued a Public Notice inviting feedback/ suggestions from stakeholders on draft Guidelines for Training of Faculty on “Indian Knowledge System (IKS)”.The public notice was issued on 14th December 2022.
These Guidelines were formulated in pursuance of the National Education Policy (NEP-2020). NEP 2020 lays special emphasis on the promotion of Indian Languages, Arts and Culture. Hence the Guidelines are intended to facilitate a seamless integration of Indian traditional knowledge with modern subjects.
The Guidelines also include model syllabi to help guide the creation of such courses for teacher training. These course outlines are not prescriptive and are intended to help the instructors in the preparation of course syllabi as per the needs of the learners.
The notice invites the stakeholders to offer their feedback/suggestions through email at iks.ugc2022@gmail.com. These may be offered latest by 28th December, 2022.
