The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a Public Notice highlighting a fake letter issued in its name. The notice, dated 28th November, 2022, states that a fake letter having Ref No. NMC (RTI)/ 2021/27-Regn./ 140719 dated 16.09.202 is in circulation. The letter states that “Avicenna International Medical University (Bishkek) is recognised by National Medical Commission and Indian students can study here to become a doctor”. The letter is ostensibly issued under the signature of the Secretary, NMC and Under Secretary, NMC.
The NMC categorically states that the above letter is fake and has not been issued by the National Medical Commission.
