The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) on 31st October 2022, has notified that 5th December 2022, shall be the date on which the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Terms and Conditions for Renewable Energy Certificates for Renewable Energy Generation) Regulations, 2022 shall come into force.
As per this regulation, Renewable energy generating station, Captive generating station based on renewable energy sources, Distribution licensee, Captive generating stations based on renewable energy sources, and Open access consumer shall be eligible for issuance of Certificates.
The registration shall be valid for twenty five years from the date of registration: Provided that the registration granted under the REC Regulations, 2010 and deemed to have been granted registration under these regulations shall be valid for a period of twenty five years from the date of deemed registration .
