The University Grants Commission (UGC) has drafted the ‘Guidelines for basic facilities and amenities for safe, secure environment for women and women cell (for sensitization, policy implementation, monitoring and grievance redressal) in HEIs in light of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The notification by UGC states that it was the responsibility of all institutions to provide “a safe, secure and violence-free environment to all the students, particularly the women students. UGC has called for suggestions and comments from all stakeholders on the draft guidelines which should be sent in by November 14, 2022, to ssiwach.ugc@nic.in.
