The Department of Telecommunications vide notification the 13th October, 2022 has issued the Indian Telegraph (Amendment) Rules, 2022. The amendment provides that in the first line maintenance and utilization of Bharat Net (Except State led model under Phase-II) through Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, operational expenditure charges for said operation and maintenance, first line maintenance of Bharat Net Phase-I network shall be funded by Universal Service Obligation Fund for a period of two years.
