Telecom Startups-MSMEs Mission (TSuM)

The Department of Telecommunications vide circular dated 11th October, 2022 has provided that Constitution of Telecom Startups-MSMEs Mission (TSuM) and a Facilitation Cell for focused engagement with Startups/MSMEs in Digital Communication Technologies.

The National Digital Communication Policy envisages necessary facilitation for technology Startups and MSMEs with the objective to enhance Indian contribution to the global value chain. In view of the above, the DoT announces the institutionalization of such facilitation through the “Telecom Startups-MSMEs Mission (TSuM)” under the Technology Vertical of DoT with a Facilitation Cell under the Mission. The broad action areas of TSuM are:

1. R&D Facilitation for Startups, MSMEs including Standardization, Trials / PoC, Spectrum, Funding, etc.
2. Enabling facilitation and coordination with DoT HQ units and field units
3. Facilitation of relevant issues with other Ministries / State Governments / Agencies
4. Market enablement, handholding as may be necessary
5. Any other areas to support Startups and MSMEs in line with the objectives of NDCP
