The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) vide notification dated August 17, 2022 has issued direction to State pollution Control Boards regarding registration of Plastic Waste Processors in Centralized EPR Portal and Fulfilment of Extended Producer Responsibility as per Provisions of PWM Rules. The application with complete detail for registration must be submitted by Plastic Waste Processors (recyclers, co-processors, waste to energy plants, waste to oil plants) by August 30, 2022.
The SPCBs are directed to revoke consent of those who fail to submit the application in the specified timeline. Further SPCBs shall ensure that the Action taken report must be submitted by August 31, 2022.
