Guidelines on manufacture/marketing of Potash Derived Molasses under Nutrient Based Subsidy Scheme

The Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers vide notification dated July 12, 2022, has issued guidelines related to Potash Derived Molasses under the Nutrient Based Subsidy Scheme. The guidelines provides for the following:

1. The Manufacturers of granulated Potash Derived from Molasses will be provided subsidy under the Nutrient Based Subsidy (NBS) scheme.
2. The fertilizer manufacturer including importers of fertilizers that are registered under the subsidy schemes of the Department of Fertilizers (DoF) will be considered as a marketer of Potash Derived from Molasses.
3. The manufacturer of Potash Derived from Molasses will be eligible for the sale of Potash Derived from Molasses by entering into a marketing arrangement with marketers under intimation to the Department of Fertilizers (DoF).
4. The manufacturer/company which will granulate the Potash Derived from Molasses will be considered as manufacturer.
5. The Manufacturer / Marketer / Retailer / Dealer will be jointly liable for ensuring/maintaining the quality of the fertilizer as per the extant rules/guidelines issued by the Department of Fertilizers (DoF).
