The RBI on 5th August, 2022 issued a notification partially modifying its earlier notification dated 12th November, 2021, directing that ‘Credit Information Company’(CIC) as defined in the Credit Information Companies (Regulation) Act, 2005, shall also be treated as a ‘Regulated Entity’ for the purpose of RBIOS 2021. Correspondingly, the RBIOS 2021 shall also be applicable to Credit Information Companies to the extent not specifically excluded under it.
The amendment in the Scheme shall come into force with effect from 1st September, 2022.
