NMC provides relaxation to foreign medical graduates.

The National Medical Commission on 28th July 2022, has granted relaxation to Indian students who are unable to complete the final year of their undergraduate medicine course due to covid-19, Russia-Ukraine war etc., these students shall be granted certificate of completion of course/degree by their respective institute on or before 30th June 2022 and they shall be permitted to appear in foreign medical graduation examination (FMG).

Further, these students qualifying the FMG examination shall undergo compulsory rotating medical internship (CRMI) for a further period of two years to make up for the clinical training which could not be physically attended by them during their undergraduate medicine course in the foreign institute as also to familiarise them with the practice of medicine under Indian conditions.

Further, the foreign medical graduates will be eligible to get registration only after completing the CRMI for 2 years and this relaxation is a onetime measure and shall not be treated as precedence in future.
