The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India on 27th July 2022, has issued Directions for keeping in abeyance the compliance of quality parameters ‘Alcoholic acidity’ and ‘Total dietary fibre’ in Bajra Flour (Pearl Millet Flour), Jowar Flour (Sorghum Flour), Multigrain flour (atta), Mixed millet flour and operationalization of the revised ‘Moisture content’ specifications for Mixed millet flour.
Based on various representations received from the stakeholders, for reconsideration of the values in respect of the quality parameters, FSSAI has decided to keep the enforcement of the following parameter in abeyance till 31st December 2022:
- Alcoholic acidity’ for Bajra Flour (Pear Millet Flour), Jower Flour (Sorghum Flour), Multigrain flour (atta), Mixed millet flour.
- ‘Total dietary fibre’ for Mixed Millet Flour
Further, the maximum limit of the moisture content in mixed millet flour has been revised from 11% to 13%.
