The Union Ministry of Education vide circular dated 01/06/2022 has directed Technical Universities to explore criteria for sympathetic consideration of genuine cases for admission through lateral entry at appropriate level. It is observed that sometimes, while pursuing the Engineering and other Degrees, due to some unfortunate circumstances midway, a brilliant student remains deprived of completing his/her program/course because of the difficulty in seeking admission in Technical Institutions.
NEP 2020 already provides for multiple entry-multiple exit, crediting the courses completed in the Academic Bank of Credit and making use of it later, in the same place or elsewhere.
