DGFT directions for strict enforcement of prohibition of export of wheat

The Director General of Foreign Trade vide trade notice dated 24th May, 2022 has issued directions for strict enforcement of prohibition of export of wheat to ensure food safety in India. To prevent the misuse of digitally signed copies of registration certificate issued to exporters of wheat by Regional Authorities of DGFT, the Regional Authorities are directed to issue manually signed and stamped physical copies of registration certificate.

The revised policy provided that export will be allowed when made to meet food security needs of other countries based on their request and permission from Indian government. Export will be allowed in cases where irrevocable Letter of Credit has been issued priory.
