DGFT clarification on revised export policy of wheat

The Director General of Foreign Trade vide notification dated 14 May, 2022 has issued clarification on prior notification that revised the export policy of all types of wheat from free to prohibited to manage the overall food security of India. The revised policy provided that export will be allowed when made to meet food security needs of other countries based on their request and permission from Indian government. Export will be allowed in cases where irrevocable Letter of Credit has been issued on before date of this notification.

It is clarified that registered authorities of DGFT had to issue Registration of Contracts(RCs) to exporters of wheat within 24 hours of submission of application.
