The Directorate of Commercial Taxes, West Bengal on 29th April 2022, has extended the last date of filling of return in Form-III, under section 6 of West Bengal State Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments Act, 1979, for the year ended on the 31st March 2022.
E-filing of professional tax return has been extended till 31st May 2022 and furnishing the paper form of that return is extended till 7th July 2022.
Before any registered employer furnishes the return, he shall pay into the appropriate Government Treasury the full amount of tax due according to the return. In making the payment challans shall be filled up in quadruplicate. One copy of such challan shall be retained by the appropriate Government Treasury, one copy shall be sent to the prescribed authority and the other two copies shall be returned to the registered employer duly signed and sealed as proof of payment. The return shall be accompanied by one copy of the challan and the other copy shall be retained by the registered employer.
