The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) vide its order dated 11th April 2022 has notified the Sample size of high priced imported alcoholic beverages. FSSAI has re-iterated to all labs to carry out the analysis with 100ml quantity and in case of import of high priced liquor, if miniature/representative sample of 100 ml (in two numbers) is available, then only miniature sample shall be drawn for laboratory analysis.
FSSAI in its earlier notification dated 6th March 2017, based on the representation requesting to define the sample size of high priced imported alcoholic beverages has notified that 100ml of sample can be taken for laboratory analysis subject to condition that imported consignment shall be accompanied with test certificate of the regulatory body of exporting country that the representative/miniature sample and imported consignment pertains to the same batch.
