The Ministry of Commerce and Industry vide its notification dated 10th February 2022 has published the Safety Glass (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2022 to further amend the Safety Glass (Quality Control) Order, 2020 in which it has clarified that this order shall be in force with effect from 1st April 2023 instead of 1st April 2022.
As per the order, Safety Glass (Architectural, Building and General uses) and Safety Glass (For Road Transport) shall conform to the Indian Standard as specified in the order and shall bear the Standard Mark under a licence from the Bureau as per the Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018:
Provided that nothing in this Order shall apply to goods or articles meant for export.
