The Ministry of Labour and Employment vide its notification dated 8th December 2021 has extending the expiry of the status of public utility service enjoyed by the defence establishment. The Ministry has declared the defence establishment to be a Public Utility Service for the purposes of the Industrial Disputes Act,1947 for a period of six months from 24th December 2021.
The Ministry has lastly declared the said industries to be public utility services for the purposes of the said Act for a period of six months from 24th June 2020. However, it has now further extended the period for another six months with effect from 24th December 2021, in the public interest.
