The State Government of Madhya Pradesh vide its notification dated 29th October 2021 has fixed the water rate for the use of water for irrigation, drinking and domestic purposes, industries, thermal power projects and hydel projects from various construction to be constructed.
The water supply to municipal corporation/municipality/Nagar panchayat/Gram panchayat and drinking purpose from natural source/self-made source shall be 50% of the water rate applicable as per its earlier notification dated 14th January 2000 with an increase of 1 paise per annum.
The water rate for thermal and hydel power project shall be Rs.0.60 per power unit rate from 1st January 2022, thereafter increase by 02 paise per power unit every year from 1st January for recovery of water after use of water from government water storage schemes such as dams, canals, barrage etc for water supplied to the generating units of hydro power projects.
Further for the use of water for drinking and industrial purposes, the concerned unit shall have to execute the agreement in form 7A.
