The Central Motor Vehicles (Twenty-Sixth Amendment) Rules, 2021.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on 15th November 2021 has published the Central Motor Vehicles (Twenty Sixth Amendment) Rules, 2021 to further amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.

The Amendment is brought under rule 115 (10) which deals with the Emission of smoke and vapor from agricultural tractors, power tillers, construction equipment vehicles, and combine harvesters driven by diesel engines in which under table 2(xvii) the following proviso has been inserted:

“Provided that the vehicles manufactured before the date of applicability of CEV Stage-IV and CEV Stage-V shall be registered up to eight months and six months respectively, after the respective date of implementation of this rule.”
