The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India vide order dated 11 October, 2021 has operationalized the standards for Desiccated coconut. The draft standards where approved on the 30th meeting of the food authority held on 29.05.2020.
The standards provides the parameters to be conformed by FBOs dealing in Desiccated coconuts. The product may contain food additives permitted in Appendix A of FSS(Food Product Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011.
