DGFT allows for import of Soya De-oiled and crushed cakes through Ranaghat Railway Station

The Director General of foreign trade through notification dated 8 October, 2021 has issued clarification regarding import of Soya De-oiled and crushed cakes. The Central Board of Indirect Taxes through notification dated 24 August, 2021 clarified that Soya De-oiled and crushed cake does not contain any living modified organism, there is no objection to import of soya cakes from an environmentalist perspective.

It was allowed to import 12 lakh metric ton of Soya De-oiled and crushed cake till 31st October 2021 or until further orders. It was later clarified through notification dated September 13, 2021 that import consignments of Soya De-oiled and crushed cakes with bill of lading/lorry receipts issued on or before 31st October 2021 shall not be allowed by customs beyond 31st January, 2022.

The import was allowed only through INNSAI port, INPTPB port, Ghojadanga LCS (INGJXB) and Kolkata (INCCUI). Ranaghat Railway Station are hereby additionally included to the list.
