The Department of Food & Public Distribution vide order dated 8th October 2021 has issued the Removal of Licensing Requirements, Stock Limits and Movement Restrictions on Specified Foodstuffs (Amendment) Order, 2021. The order provides that It shall be ensured that Edible Oils and Edible Oil seeds stock is regularly declared and updated on the portal of this Department i.e. Department of Food & Public Distribution.
The stock limit for all Edible Oils and oil seeds shall be decided by the respective States/Union Territories on the basis of available stock and consumption pattern of the State/Union Territory.
