FSSAI operationalises provisions of FSS(Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Amendment Regulations, 2021 relating to limit of naturally occurring formaldehyde in freshwater and marine fish

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India through circular dated 13 September, 2021 has directed operationalisation of provisions of Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Amendment Regulations, 2021 relating to limit of naturally occurring formaldehyde in freshwater and marine fish. The draft Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Amendment Regulations, 2021 are in the process of being notified.

Meanwhile the provisions specifying the limit of naturally occurring formaldehyde in freshwater and marine fish is being re-operationalised. The Food Business Operators shall follow these regulations and the enforcement of these regulations with immediate effect.
