The Department of Information & Publicity on 7th September 2021 has implemented the free water scheme for all individual domestic consumers with effect from 1st September, 2021.
The Scheme offers free water up to 16,000 litres per month and consumers will not be charged metre rent or sewerage charges if their consumption is within the limit.
Further the small businesses and restaurants will be transferred from the industrial to commercial segment for water billing, due to which, they also will be able to avail the benefit of this scheme.
Further, it is also informed that in order to implement the scheme w.e.f September 01, 2021 the water supply bills for the water charges upto August 31, 2021 will be issued by Public Works Department for all its consumers as informed by the Department of Information and Publicity.
