The Bureau of Indian Standards through notification dated 31st August, 2021 has clarified that BIS standard IS 17017 (Part 2/Sec 6) : 2021 shall be followed for Plugs, Socket-Outlets, Vehicle Connectors and Vehicle Inlets for Conductive Charging of Electric Vehicles.
BIS standard IS 17017 (Part 22/Sec 1) : 2021 shall be followed for Electric Vehicle Conductive Charging Systems, Charging Configurations and Charge Point for Light Electric Vehicle. BIS standard IS 17017 (Part 25) : 2021 shall be followed for Electric Vehicle Conductive Charging System Supply Equipment Where Protection Relies on Electrical Separation
The particulars of the standards shall remain in force concurrently till they are withdrawn.
