Wholesale Price Index for the month of July, 2021

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade through press release dated August 16th, 2021 has released the numbers of wholesale price in India (Base Year: 2011-12) for the month of July, 2021 (Provisional) and for the month of May, 2021.

The annual rate of inflation is 11.16% (Provisional) for the month of July, 2021 (over July, 2020) as compared to
(-0.25%) in July, 2020. The high rate of inflation in July 2021 is primarily due to low base effect and rise in prices of
crude petroleum & natural gas; mineral oils; manufactured products like basic metals; food products; textiles; chemicals
and chemical products etc as compared the corresponding month of the previous year.

Index Numbers of WPI for the month of August, 2021 would be released on 14/09/2021.
