The Central Government through notification dated 3rd August, 2021 has issued the Limited Liability Partnership (Amendment) Act, 2021. The amendment provides revised penalties for violations of the Parent Act. The Central Government is empowered by the amendment, for the purpose of providing speedy trial of offenses under this Act, by notification, establish or designate as many Special Courts as may be necessary for such area or areas, as may be specified in the notification. The Special Court shall consist of—
- A single Judge holding office as Sessions Judge or Additional Sessions Judge, in case of offenses punishable under this Act with imprisonment of three years or more; and
- A Metropolitan Magistrate or a Judicial Magistrate of the first class, in the case of other offenses.
