Rajasthan PCB extends the waiver period on registration fee for the dealers under Battery (Management and Handling) Rules, 200.

The Rajasthan Pollution Control Board vide its notification dated 5th August 2021 has extended the period of waiver of registration fee of Rs.10,000 for dealers for registration under Rule 7 of the Battery (Management and Handling) Rules, 2001 up to September 30, 202.

As per rule 7, it shall be the responsibility of a dealer to ensure that the used batteries are collected back as per the Schedule against new batteries sold and give an appropriate discount for every used battery returned by the consumer and shall ensure that used batteries collected back are of similar type and specifications as that of the new batteries sold.

Further, no waiver in the registration fee will be considered and action will be taken against the battery dealers who fail to get registered with the State Board.
