“Semiconductor Surge”: India’s Thrust Towards Global Technological Leadership

At the ‘India’s Techade: Chips for Viksit Bharat’ event, Prime Minister inaugurated three semiconductor facilities valued at ₹1.25 lakh crore through virtual Bhoomi Poojan. He emphasized their role in making India self-reliant in chip manufacturing and leading Industry 4.0.

These initiatives align with the Semiconductor Mission announced two years ago. Prime Minister highlighted streamlined regulations, relaxed FDI policies, and PLI schemes to boost electronics manufacturing. He emphasized the potential of Indian talent in chip design and job creation for youth. The Prime Minister stressed the transformative approach of the government and its commitment to national priorities. Projects worth ₹12 lakh crore were inaugurated in 2024 alone, marking significant progress towards India’s developmental goals. The PM praised recent achievements in defense, space, and technology sectors, signaling India’s growing prowess on the global stage. He urged everyone to contribute to India’s progress, affirming opportunities in the semiconductor sector for the country’s youth.
