The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change on 14th June 2021 has decided to allow one-time permission for import of used critical care medical equipment for re-use that have been already imported and are lying at different ports/airport as on 8th June 2021.
Used critical care medical equipment for re-use falls under schedule VI of hazardous and other waste (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 and it’s prohibited for import.
However due to the prevailing COVID situation in the country it has decided to grant one time permission for import of used CC medical equipment.
