The State Government of Karnataka on 18th May 2021 has issued guidelines for minimizing wastage and rational use of Remdesivir in health care facilities. The Health Care Facility shall form a Remdesivir Audit Committee and submit a report on the use of Remdesivir pre and post audit to the Expert Committees.
The Remdesivir shall be considered only in patients with moderate to severe disease and no renal or hepatic dysfunction and to people who are within 10 days of onset of symptom.
Further it shall not be used in patients who are NOT on oxygen support or in home settings and it shall be used in the wards of Designated COVID-19 Health Centre (DCHC) and Designated COVID-19 hospital.
