The Ministry of Labour and Employment vide its notification dated 16th April 2021 has extended the public utility service status to services engaged in banking industry under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 for a further period of six months.
The Ministry has lastly declared the said industry to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a period of six months from 21st October 2020. However, due to the opinion that public interest requires the extension of the public utility service status to the said industry, it is extended for a further period of six months with effect from 21st April 2021.
