The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board on 16th April 2021 has decided to expedite the process of issuance of consent/permissions to the industries who intend to manufacture medical oxygen in order to ensure the availability of medical oxygen or its production on consistent basis to handle the increased oxygen requirement due to COVID-19 Pandemic situation.
As an emergency Interim measure, The MPCB considers all the Oxygen Manufacturing project/activity as a “Priority Activity”.
The permission/consent shall be granted for a temporary period of 3 months and any entrepreneurs who propose to establish or start the operation of already established unit for manufacturing of medical oxygen, can start the establishment of the unit or start the manufacturing activity immediately, even without obtaining Prior Consent.; However they have to prior intimate the board about such activity.
