The Central Government has taken a decisive step in advancing the allied and healthcare profession sector by establishing the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Profession. The commission was notified on March 11, 2024.
In this regard, the Principal of the Government Physiotherapy College and President of the Gujarat State Council for Physiotherapy has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Commission.
He has previously served in key positions within the field of physiotherapy. His appointment is effective from the 8th day of January, 2024. He will hold the position for a period of two years, or until further orders are issued, whichever comes earlier.
Additionally, the Commission includes other members who will contribute to its objectives and functions as laid down under its Act and Rules.
This move is poised to enhance regulation, promote quality standards, and address various challenges within the allied and healthcare sector, ultimately benefiting healthcare professionals and the general public alike.
