The Lok Sabha on 24.03.2021 has passed National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions Act, 2020. The bill provides that no person shall establish an allied and healthcare institution except with the previous permission of the State Council obtained in accordance with the provisions of this Act.
The amendment also provides stringent penalty for any person:
- Not being a person registered in the Central Register or a State Register, takes or uses the description of an allied and healthcare professional, or
- Not possessing an allied and healthcare qualification under this Act, uses a degree or a diploma or a license or an abbreviation indicating or implying such qualification,
