The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India vide its notification dated 16th March 2021 has decided that the food and water testing reports from government recognized laboratories can be considered for the purpose of awarding hygiene rating certificate to the eligible food business.
Earlier the report from NABL accredited laboratory for hygiene rating certificates were accepted, however through this notification the reports from government-recognized laboratories are accepted and it is for the limited purpose of hygiene rating only.
