The State Government of Tripura vide its notification dated 5th March 2021 has published the Tripura Motor Vehicle (Tenth Amendment) Rules 2021 to further amend the Tripura Motor Vehicles Rules, 1991.
The Amendment brings in a new rule 57A which exempts certain vehicles from the requirement of registration.
The Government has exempted road building and rehabilitation equipment and heavy earth moving machines such as dumpers, pay loaders, shovels, drills and rock breakers used for construction works in different projects within the state from the requirement from registration.
Provided that such vehicles shall in no circumstances be driven on public roads outside the construction site and shall be transported from one location to another through carriage on other vehicles or trailers.
