The State Government of Kerala vide its notification dated 9th November 2020 has promulgated the Kerala Shops and Commercial Establishments (Amendment) Ordinance, 2020 in which a new definition to the term labour administrator and Labour Commissionerate Automation System has been inserted.
Further under section 5A (6) which deals with the procedure for the application to be filed for the renewal of the registration certificate, has been inserted, which states that “An application for the renewal of a registration certificate granted under this Act shall be made at least 30 days before the expiry of the period thereof and on payment of such fees, as may be prescribed through Labour Commissionerate Automation System, the registration certificate shall be renewed automatically”.
