The Ministry of Labour and Employment vide its notification dated 27th October 2020 has published the Employees’ State Insurance (Central) Amendment rules, 2020 to further amend the Employees’ State Insurance (Central) Rules, 1950.
Through this amendment, ESIC has decided to enhance the monetary grant paid to pregnant women by Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,500 in case they cannot avail maternity services in ESIC dispensaries.
As per rule 56-A rule, an insured woman or an insured person in respect of his wife is paid Rs 5,000 per case on account of confinement expenses provided that the confinement occurs at a place where necessary medical facilities under the ESIC are not available.
However, through this amendment esic has enhanced the confinement expenses.
