The Delhi Transport Department vide its notification dated 15th October 2020 has published the Delhi Motor Vehicles (Second Amendment) Rules, 2020 to further amend the Delhi Motor Vehicles Rules, 1993.
The Amendment is brought under rule 37A which specifies the registration fee on the vehicles in which the fee prescribed at Serial No.4 in the Column 3 of the Table given in Rule 81 of Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 shall not be applicable on Battery Operated Vehicles as defined in Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.
Further the Commissioner may by order exempt a person or a class of persons from the payment of additional fee for delay in transfer of ownership, change of residence and delay in grant or renewal of certificate of fitness for a motor vehicle as specified in the table of fees in Rule 81 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.
