The State Government of Goa vide its notification dated 12th October 2020 has published the Factories (Goa Amendment) Act, 2020 in which the act shall now be applicable to factory using power and employing 20 or more workers and 40 or more workers without the use of power.
A new section 5A has been inserted relating to the power of State Government to exempt any new factory or class or description of new factories from all or any of the provisions of this Act for a period of one thousand days from the date on which such commercial production start.
The term “new factory or class or description of new factories” means such a factory or class or description of factories which are established and whose commercial production start within a period of one thousand days from the date of commencement of the Factories (Goa Amendment) Act, 2020.”
